PhD in anthropology
Associate researcher at LARHRA

I hold a PhD in anthropology in 2014 from the University of Lyon 2 Lumière (LARHRA, UMR 5190). My work has explored the modalities and the logics of arrangements in religious healing practices in Madagascar. I am currently studying the protestant exorcist practices in Madagascar and their association with psychiatry and biomedicine at large. My ethnographical fieldwork is articulated with missionary archives (DEFAP, NMS) and the lutheran Awakening movement. In an anthropological perspective, I interrogate the notion of ‘madness’ from several terminologies and readings (religious, witchcraft-based, or psychiatric) based on multiple forms of knowledge and beliefs.
